Mission:
HTB is committed to developing the skills, character, and confidence of Haverhill’s student-athletes in grades 4–8. Through competitive travel basketball, we prepare players to excel at the high school level while fostering teamwork, discipline, and a love for the game. Our program provides an inclusive environment where every athlete earns their place, and no child is denied the opportunity to play due to financial barriers.
Vision:
HTB envisions a thriving basketball community in Haverhill where every young athlete has the opportunity to grow, compete, and succeed. We strive to be recognized as a model youth program that develops future high school athletes, leaders, and role models — both on the court and in life. By fostering excellence, inclusivity, and community pride, HTB will continue to shape generations of players who carry the values of teamwork, discipline, and integrity into all areas of their lives.
Core Values:
Player Development – We prioritize teaching fundamentals, advanced skills, and basketball IQ to prepare athletes for long-term success.
Teamwork – We value unselfish play, collaboration, and trust, knowing the team grows stronger when everyone works together.
Integrity – We hold ourselves to high standards of honesty, accountability, and sportsmanship on and off the court.
Inclusivity – We provide opportunities for all athletes, regardless of financial circumstances or background.
Competitiveness – We challenge players to push their limits, embrace healthy competition, and strive for excellence.
Community – We take pride in representing Haverhill, building strong connections among players, families, and the larger community.
Character Growth – We use basketball as a tool to instill discipline, resilience, respect, and leadership skills that extend beyond the game.
About HTB
Haverhill Travel Basketball is dedicated to fostering the skills and growth of Haverhill youth basketball players, from grades 4 through 8, as they prepare to compete at the high school level. This inclusive yet competitive program requires all participants to try out and earn their spot on a grade-level team. During tryouts, players are evaluated and placed on teams that best match their skill level.
While we strive to accommodate everyone who attends tryouts, placement on a team is not guaranteed. Eligible participants must reside primarily in the City of Haverhill, and proof of residency may be required. Students who attend school in Haverhill but live outside the city may request a waiver from the league for eligibility. To learn more or request a waiver, please contact the program director for Boys or Girls via email -[email protected] or [email protected]
For players that split time with parents living in two different residences, you must apply for waiver if the player’s primary residence is not in the City of Haverhill.
These rules are in accordance with league rules and not created by Haverhill Travel Basketball. To view the full league rules, please visit the league site applicable to your child(ren).
